Upcycled silk, pieced by hand

Made with Vụn Art, a UNESCO-recognized social enterprise in Hanoi that turns leftover silk into work for artisans with disabilities.

Vụn Art takes fabric offcuts left over from Vietnam's silk workshops — scraps too small for garment-making — and gives them to artisans with disabilities, who piece them by hand into bags, coasters, and wall art. Each piece is one of a kind, because no two offcuts are ever quite the same.

Working with Vụn Art meant the collection had to be built around what the artisans already do well, not the other way around — so the designs stayed simple, and the patchwork stayed honest.
